Could someone explain to me why the United States spends more money killing people than taking care of its own?
The tax rebate is Bush and his cronies way of bailing out big corporations using tax payers' money, it is NOT to help poorer America.
Why is there money to help big corporations, killing people, but when it comes to Social Security, the money is running out? Why don't they bail out Social Security? My measly $300 rebate has already gone to Big Oil. Yours most likely will end up in some big corporation's pockets too and our children will have to pick up the tab.

If you are planning on upgrading to Vista, there are hardly any drivers available. They are not the same as XP and most likely you will not be able to find drivers for your hardware at this time. Check with your manufacture for Vista drivers before you upgrade or you may be out of luck for a while until someone comes up with drivers. This is another repeat of XP SP 2.

Office XP keeps asking for it to be registered
• Go to Start
• Run
• Type
  • regedit
• Press OK.
• Navigate to
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Uninstall
• Then scroll to
  • {00000409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}
• In the right hand pane select the ProductID entry and right click and rename to OldProductId.
• Exit the Registry and reboot then start Word again, you'll be prompted to enter your
• Product ID from your installation disk. You should find this resolves the problem.

Office Programs Open Slowly

  Symptoms
  • When you open one of the Microsoft Office programs listed at the beginning of this article, the program may open slowly.
  Cause
  This behavior may occur if Norton anti-virus 2000, Norton anti-virus 2001, or Norton anti-virus 2002 is installed on your computer.
  Resolution
  • Solution One
    • To resolve this problem, unregister the Norton anti-virus Officeav.dll add-in by following these steps:
      • Click Start
      • Click Run
      • In the Open box, type the following command (including the quotation marks) or copy and paste it
      • Click OK
        regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\norton anti-virus\officeav.dll"
      • If the command is successful, you see the following message:
        • DllUnregisterServer in C:\Program Files\Norton anti-virus\Officeav.dll succeeded.
      NOTE:
      • If the command is unsuccessful, search your computer's hard disk for the Officeav.dll file. The file may be located in a different folder.

      • The resolution described in the "Resolution" section of this article turns off (disables) the virus scanning plug-in that is installed during setup of Norton anti-virus 2002, Norton anti-virus 2000, or Norton anti-virus 2001.   • Solution Two
    • In NAV under options choose "Miscellaneous"
    • Make sure "Enable Office plug-in" is NOT checked.
    • See if that helps, if it does then go back into word and change macro security from low, to medium.
    • Test again.
    • If changing to medium slows down word a lot, then go back to low, but if it only adds a second or two of time then keep it at medium.
  • Solution Three
    • If adjusting your anti-virus software (if you have it) doesn't help, try unchecking "Automatically search for network folders and printers" in Control Panel>Folder Options>View tab
  • Solution Four
    • Check the Startup folder.
    • With Word closed and using Windows Explorer to find the Word Startup folder, usually C:\program files\Microsoft\Office\Word\Startup
    • Make sure there are no files in there that you did not intentionally put in there yourself.
      • In other words make sure there are no documents there you created.
    • Word has the STARTUP folder and Excel has the XLSTART folder. Files in either of these folders are automatically opened when you launch the respective program
