Could someone explain to me why the United States spends more money killing people than taking care of its own?
The tax rebate is Bush and his cronies way of bailing out big corporations
using tax payers' money, it is NOT to help poorer America.
Why is there money to help big corporations, killing people, but when it comes
to Social Security, the money is running out? Why don't they bail out
Social Security? My measly $300 rebate has already gone to Big Oil. Yours most
likely will end up in some big corporation's pockets too and our children will
have to pick up the tab.
Matthew 19:26 "With
God all things are possible."
"Of the People, by the people, for the people."
Not any more in the USA.
Now it is Of the people, by the government, for the government, big corporations,
and rich.

If you are planning on upgrading to Vista, there are hardly any drivers available.
They are not the same as XP and most likely you will not be able to find
drivers for your hardware at this time. Check with your manufacture for Vista drivers before you upgrade or you may be out of luck for a while
until someone comes up with drivers. This is another repeat of XP SP 2.
Three things to remember when you are working with computers.
First thing is "YOU CAN DO IT".
Second take your time, a little mistake can cause a big problem.
Third all answers are only a question away.
TABLE OF CONTENTS is after these links.
Here are some links for online virus program and also free spyware programs. If you are experiencing computer Problems such as slowness, strange icons
appearing, tool bars appearing, home page changing, please use one of the following
links to check for a virus or trojan.
If your computer has System Restore make sure you disable it before running any of these programs.
Remember to Enable System Restore once you have finished.
AVG is a great "FREE" program and I used to keep a link to the download but they keep changing it all the time and I can't keep this link up to date so Google "Download AVG Free" to get the download link. SORRY!
DEP is a processor feature that is supported by Microsoft Windows
XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).
The feature prevents the execution of code in memory regions that are
marked as data storage.
This feature is also known as No-Execute and Execution Protection.
DEP enables Windows to test whether pages of memory in the exception handlers
are marked to enable code execution or not. If a page is not marked to enable
code execution, and an application tries to run code, Windows causes a fault
to make sure malicious code is not being run on the computer.
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a system-level memory protection
feature that is built into the Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 operating systems. DEP enables Windows to mark one or more pages
of memory as non-executable. Marking memory regions as non-executable means
that code cannot be run from that region of memory, which makes it harder
for the exploitation of buffer overruns.
DEP prevents code from being run from data pages such as the default
heap, stacks, and memory pools. If an application attempts to run code from
a data page that is protected, a memory access violation exception occurs,
and if the exception is not handled, the calling process is terminated.
DEP is not intended to be a comprehensive defense against all exploits;
it is intended to be another tool that you can use in secure your application.
How Data Execution Prevention Works
If an application attempts to run code from a protected page, the application
receives an exception with the status code STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION.
If your application must run code from a memory page, it must allocate
and set the proper virtual memory protection attributes.
The allocated memory must be marked PAGE_EXECUTE, PAGE_EXECUTE_READ, PAGE_EXECUTE_READWRITE, or PAGE_EXECUTE_WRITECOPY when allocating
memory.
Heap allocations made by calling the malloc and HeapAlloc functions are non-executable.
Applications cannot run code from the default process heap or the stack.
"Data Execution Prevention" error message in Windows
XP Service Pack 2
When you run an application that tries to run code in memory regions that
are marked as data storage, you may receive an error message that is similar
to the following:
Data Execution Prevention
A Windows security feature has detected a problem and closed this program.
Name: Application name
Publisher: Application Publisher
Data Execution Prevention helps protect against damage from viruses or
other security threats.
How does it work?
Advanced OK buttons
If you click OK, your program ends, and Windows Error Reporting
gives you the option to send an error report.
Click Click Here in the error reporting interface to see details.
If EventType:BEX appears in the Error Signature part of the details,
this error is a Software Data Execution Prevention (DEP)-related
fault. Cause
Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 uses the DEP feature to prevent
the execution of code from data pages. When an application tries to
run code from a marked data page, an exception immediately occurs and
prevents the code from executing. This behavior prevents an attacker
from overrunning a data buffer with code and then executing the code.
DEP Solutions to Errors
To avoid this issue, contact your application vendor to see if an update
is available that enables the application to work correctly with the DEP feature.
If no update is available, follow these steps to add an exception for
the application:
When the application fails, click the Advanced button.
In the Data Execution Prevention dialog box, click Help
protect all programs except
Click to select the check box next to the application
Click Apply
When you are prompted to restart your system, click OK two
times
Restart your system
You can also add an exception for the application by using System Properties in Control Panel.
Click Start
Click Run
Type in
sysdm.cpl
Click OK to open Control Panel
Click the Advanced tab
Click Performance
Click Settings
In Performance Options, click the Data Execution Prevention tab
Click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those
I select
Click Add
In the Open dialog box, locate and then click the application.
Click Open
click Apply
Click OK
When you are prompted to restart your system lick OK
Ipod USB Problems
Solutions
Try the following in the order they are in.
Drivers and cable
If you have one of the 2003 (or later) models, you can connect
your iPod via a USB cable
You will have to download the software from Apple's Web
site and the purchase of a $20 combination USB
2.0/FireWire cable (also from Apple)
Check the device manager to see if the iPod drive is showing
up
Open Device Manager
Right click on the iPod name
Click Properties
Click the Settings tab and make sure you have the correct
drive letter assigned to this device
Then click View
Click Devices by Connection
Check the ACPI or PCI bus to the drive. If it's
under the Enhanced Controller it's running as USB 2.0.
This is what it is suppose to be
If this is a new PC?
If the above checks out, you need to contact the maker for support.
There may be updated drivers available
Setting up the USB Host Controller
Note: The SiS 7001 has Known Issues with Windows
XP that the New Registry Patch does not correct. Consider
installing a PCI USB Card as a
substitute for an onboard USB host controller
Disable USB Error Detection for Win98SE or Newer OS
In Windows Standard Mode
Open Device Manager
USB Host Controllers
SiS USB Host Controller
Advanced
Enable the function Disable USB Error Detection
BIOS
Note: If you are sure about what you
are doing DO NOT update to the latest BIOS version available for your
motherboard. IF you feel comfortable updating the bios continue, if
not stop.
These are easy to check so check these to be sure they are set the
following way. These are not always correct but usually is the best
settings. Set the FSB to Default Value - No Overclocking
Note:Owners of Socket 7-based systems,
report that setting "Legacy USB devices" to "DISABLED" has cured unruly
USB functionality.
Plug and Play Operating System - Enabled
for Socket 7 / Disabled for Newer Systems
IRQs Assigned - Auto or OS
USB or USB Keyboard (Legacy USB Function) - Enabled
BIOS Controlled Power Management Support - Disabled
Not all of the following setting may be available but check
for them anyhow
BIOS support for DMA - Disabled
Write Prefetch - Disabled
ACPI - Disabled
Enhanced Chip Performance - Enabled
Overclocking
Do not over clock because it can advance the PCI bus beyond
33Mhz.
The resulting increased can affect the operation of the Universal
Serial Bus.
Set the Front Side Bus to default values before you do anything
else
